Altered Item - Asti Martini Bottle

Where has the summer gone?

It has been a very busy summer and I have not got around to posting here for a couple of months.  I have still made a few things in between enjoying the sunshine.

A lovely lady who worked with me was retiring and I wanted to make a special, unique gift for her.

The Roses, Cherry Blossoms and Leaves were bought from Hobbycraft
the ribbon was from my stash

I don't normally use a hot glue gun when making cards but for this
project I have as I needed instant stick!

The label was cut out of a beautiful backing paper from the Love Letters digital background papers by The Paper Shelter.

Wee Stamps - Silver Fairy

I made this card a week or so ago and have been dying to share
her with you but couldn't until I had given it to the Birthday Girl
It is an 8" square Easel Card
The beautiful background paper is Perriwinkle by Kanban
which I have layered onto Centura Pearlescent card.

The gorgeous Digital Stamp is Silver Fairy from Wee Stamps
which is coloured with Promarkers , I have sprinkled fairy dust on her wings (Stickles to you and me)

Anyone who has read my previous blogs will know I am having fun learning how to use my Silhouette Cameo Machine.  These labels were my first attempt using the pens and then cutting and layering shapes.

Although the corner looks like metal it is actually card which has been cut on the Silhouette Cameo Machine and then heat embossed using ink and embossing powder.
The gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon, pearls and jewels are from my stash

Silhouette Cameo - Butterfly Floral Lace Square

I am having so much fun playing with my Silhouette Cameo  cutting machine
at the moment.  There are so many things you can do with this machine, the challenge is finding the time to watch tutorials and play.

This card is a 6" square Cream pearlescent card.
The Butterfly Floral Lace Square overlay file was bought from the Silhouette download store (just 65pence per file) and cut on the Silhouette.

I coloured the butterfly and then added  Diamond Stickles
I have also added flat back pearls to each flower centre.
The tag was written and cut on the Silhouette Cameo Machine with a flower added.

Kenny K - Handyman Birthday Card

Isn't it difficult finding inspiration and bits and bobs
to make Male cards (or is it just that I enjoy making girlie cards more?)
We all have special Male friends and relations we don't want to feel left out
so here is my latest effort

I used the Handyman digital stamp from Kenny K
which I coloured with Promarkers
The tape measures, spanner and vellum with springs were in an old
book of papers which had lost its cover.
The "Happy Birthday" I printed on my PC

The inside was decorated to match the front.

Joanne 40th Birthday Card

I really enjoyed making this card
My apologies for the quality of the images

I recently discovered the Pink Petticoat website,  beautiful digital background papers, sentiments and stamps.  These are fantastic value as most of the design you buy the download is for 38 different colours and in positive and negative.
Solid colours are free!
I love the fact that you don't need to have drawers full of paper and can print as you need.
As you can see I have bought several designs, printed them off in the same colour
to create this card.  The image is Suzi with Bunny from Wee Stamps which I have coloured with Promarkers

Captain Locke - decoupage

What a beautiful Bank Holiday Weekend we had
Much too nice to be stuck in the craft room

and personalised with a Happy Birthday tag.

The image was pre coloured.  I printed onto photo paper, cut out and layered

Vulcan Stepper Card

Something a little bit different today.
Male cards are so much more difficult!  But I still want to make it personal.

This is my first Stepper card,  with the folding being the hardest part.
The photographs were taken by my husband Steve on our annual visit to Waddington Air Show.
You can see more of his photographs at Valvetec Photography.

Chocolate Bouquets

I had seen these in a shop and have wanted to make them for a while.
I decided to make them as table decorations for my Husbands 50th birthday

I used funsize Cadbury Chocolate Bars and refresher chew bars.
the bases are cardboard living vases from Ebay (meant for flowers). with Oasis in the bottom.
and a pull bow on the front.

As you can see it was a case of experimenting.
I used different coloured tissue paper and cellophane
Each sweetie bar was attached to a wooden coffee stirrer,
wrapped in tissue paper and or cellophane using a glue gun.
Then arranged as you would flowers.

They can be made with any choice of sweets or chocolate
Would be a great gift using someone's favourite chocolate
Great fun to make and everyone loved them.

The Paper Shelter - The Happy couple - Wedding Card, light blue

Light Blue Wedding Card
I was asked by a friend to create a special, personalised Wedding Card
This card is 8" square on White pearlescent card

The image is The Happy couple from The Paper Shelter  which I have coloured with Promarkers
to co-ordinate with the requested colour scheme.
The background paper is Birdsong by Pion which is absolutely gorgeous.
I have used the top left and bottom right corners, cutting the paper to fit and hiding the cut.

I made the card an easel with a difference -
it also opens up like a traditional card.

On the inside cover I have used the 6" paper  and created a pocked which could be used for a gift envelope but in this case has been used for mini postcards with ribbons which the sender can write personal messages on

The words of the first dance were printed onto white pearl vellum

A very personal message from Mum to her son and new wife.
This is printed onto 6" Birdsong paper
