Silhouette Cameo - Tina Fitch - Butterfly Easel Card

Mothers Day Cards

I love to make special cards for both Mums.
This year I had decided I was making exploding boxes.
I cut the pieces out for the first one and started gluing together but I'm not sure if it was my choice of card or the colour/pattern combination but it looked like something a five year old had made. (no offence meant to any 5 year olds).
With 2 days to go I needed inspiration for a stunning card I could make quickly!

I am so please I chose this card

This is a cutting file bought from Tina Fitch Forever Memories  and cut on my

I think the cards look stunning!
Once all of the pieces are cut out they are very easy to construct
with sticky pads and glue

They do use quite a lot of card and sticky pads.
Each card takes 8 sheets of A4 but I think it is worth it.

Large Family Tree - Silhouette Cameo

I really enjoyed making this tree
This was a special order for a friend to give to her best friend as a wedding gift.
What a gorgeous idea to celebrate not just a wedding
But two families coming together.

As there were 18 names to fit on the tree I suggested a bigger frame & tree
The frame is a 55cm square Ikea Ribba Frame.
The tree is 40cm square from Bespoke Lazercutz  and is much bigger than it looks in the picture.

The layout of the hearts is very much personal to the customer.
The trees I have made so far have laid the names out in a way that shows the order of the family from top down but could be changes so that the family "grows" from the middle.

When designing this tree a challenge was to find a backing paper that was big enough (50cm square) but did not detract from the tree.
Here are some of the options considered
This is wrapping paper, we felt it was too busy.

Wrapping paper again,  didn't like this.

This is cotton fabric and although very pretty was too busy a pattern.

This is the backing that comes with the frame and a square of coloured paper
Thought it looked a bit weird.

Although the Gold was a lovely warm colour we felt it did not give
enough contrast to the tree.

More Box Frame - Family Tree's - Silhouette Cameo

A few more family trees to share with you
As before the wooden pieces are bought from Bespoke Lazercutz .
The first one is a little different as I have painted the leaves and hearts with acrylic paint before adding the lettering.

The lettering has been cut in silver vinyl as I didn't think black would show up very well on the burgundy hearts.  The frames I have used so far are from Ikea which are good value but only available in black or white.  The frames used for these trees are Ribba Frame  which are approx 25cm square (inner approx 23cm square)

This was my first black frame,  I quite like it!
The background and gem colour are chosen to fit in with the décor of the home it is going to live in.

For this size of Tree and frame I wouldn't want to add many more hearts/names than this one as I feel it would hide too much of the beautiful tree.

Silhouette Cameo - 21st Birthday Box Card

I am just catching up on posting,
I have lots to share
This is a 21st Birthday Card from last year.
I was asked to make a Barbie Pink, More bling the better card.

This is another model of the Box Card I have developed during the year.

This card ended up being 12" tall
All cut on the Silhouette Cameo Machine  most of the shapes are bought from the
Silhouette Library with lettering designed.

I did try to use glitter to make the letters blingy but failed miserably...
In the end I cut the letters etc from white card,
stamped with pink ink and heat embossed with holographic powder.
I think it worked well.

A Card would not be complete without a box.
The box has been covered with papers from Pink Petticoat Digital Papers.
Love them as you can colour co-ordinate with anything.

Box Frame - Family Tree - Silhouette Cameo

Today I would like to share with you my latest projects.
Although I would like to say they were totally made on the Silhouette Cameo Machine
To get the look I wanted I needed to buy Lazer Cut wooden trees & hearts.

I bought the trees from Bespoke Lazercutz , a small business just setting up, very approachable and providing a wonderful service.

The trees are specifically designed to fit the Ikea, Ribba frame  10" square  (23cm)

The lettering for each heart is cut in vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo Machine.

I have left all of my tree's natural so far but the tree and hearts can be painted.

The four shown here were given as presents to family and friends.

But I am taking orders for these if anyone would like one made.
Please contact me at karenmanton99@aol.com for more details.

Silhouette Cameo - Modern Wedding - Box Card 2

Here is another Wedding Box Card made for a friend to give to her son and wife made with my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.
The box base was made from Centura double sided pearlescent card (which I love crafting with)  The front face of the box is 5" x 5" with the side faces 5" high x 3" deep.
The cutting file for the box base and most of the personalised lettering is my own design, the lattice, hearts and other shapes were bought from the Silhouette Design Store where most cutting files are 59p

The request was to "bling it up" so I used holographic mirror card as the
second layer of the lettering.
and added diamante's to the lattice on the base for extra bling!  (5mm on the front and 2mm on the sides)
For a personal message to the happy couple a card is added to the back of the box
You can see the coffee stirrer sticks from this angle!

A custom made box/envelope is made for each card,  although they fold virtually flat they are quite tall and wide.

Silhouette Cameo - Modern Wedding - Box Card

I enjoyed making this wedding card so very much,  My friends (who it was made for) gave me a blank canvas of Colour theme, Names & date and left me to it.
The base of the card is 5" x 5" front panel with 5" x 3" side panels.
All cut from Pearlescent Card on my Silhouette Cameo Machine.

The shapes (hearts, butterflies, Lattice, Mr&Mrs, Horseshoe and Kissing Couple) were all bought from the Sil Store.

The words, names and dates I designed and blinged up with some Stickles.

Once the base box was constructed and elements cut each one was glued onto a
wooden coffee stirrer and placed using a glue gun

Although I forgot to take a photograph the card will fold almost flat.
I made a Card Box approx 10" wide by 10" high by 1" deep which I added ribbon to and personalised.
